Welcome to the world of Ark, where Global Warming has caused the seas to rise, all technology had been drowned, and people have access to only five hundred words. Is it possible to dream when you have such a limited language? That’s what Letta wants to know. Join writer Patricia Forde to hear about Letta’s adventures and a world that looks a little like our own, but is very, very different.

Patricia Forde is from Galway. She writes for children of all ages in both Irish and English. Her first novel The Wordsmith was published to great critical acclaim in 2015 and she has recently published a sequel entitled Mother Tongue. For younger children, Patricia wrote Bumpfizzle the Best on Planet Earth in 2018 which was chosen as the Dublin UNESCO Citywide Read in 2019. She still lives in Galway, her favourite city in the world, with her husband, two grown up children and one very mischievous dog called Ben.
