In association with Poetry Ireland, we are delighted to welcome Festival friend John McAuliffe for a reading from The Kabul Olympics. Described as a book of impossible places, the poems in this new collection pit individual lives and ordinary days and hours and minutes against the sweeping historical events and catastrophes which would sweep them away. Alongside John, we will hear from Katie Donovan and one of the most exciting debut poets of recent times, Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe.
Katie Donovan’s recent collections Day of the Dead (Tarset, UK, Bloodaxe Books, 2002); Rootling: New and Selected Poems (Bloodaxe, 2010) and Off Duty (Bloodaxe, 2016).
Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe’s poetry has been published in Poetry Ireland Review, The Irish Times, Writing Home: The New Irish Poets Anthology, broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1’s The Poetry Programme and the Poetry Ireland podcast.
Hosted by Maureen Kennelly, Director, Poetry Ireland.
