
Douglas Kennedy’s novels – The Dead Heart, The Big Picture, The Job, The Pursuit of Happiness, A Special Relationship, State of the Union, Temptation, The Woman in the Fifth and Leaving the World – have all been highly praised bestsellers which have won for him an enormous and devoted readership. His books have been translated into twenty-one languages.
He is also the author of three acclaimed travel books: Beyond the Pyramids, In God’s Country, and Chasing Mammon. In 2006 he received the French decoration of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. He lived in Ireland from 1977-1988, during which time he was the administrative director of the Peacock Theatre before resigning in 1983 to write full time. During this period he was also a columnist for The Irish Times. Born in Manhattan in 1955 he now divides his time between London, Paris and Maine.
